This image is created for the Uncommon Paradigm book, which will be released soon. It is created using Carrara Pro, which is a very good 3D program for creating natural worlds and landscapes. The scene rendered quite speedily, considering volumetric clouds were included. Some parts of the rendering are modelled using Blender 3D.

FISH – short 3D animation

FISH is a short 3D animation that was created using Blender 3D and GIMP. It portrays an inquisitive little fish.

For this piece, modelling, rendering and animation were done entirely within Blender.  For rendering, node compositing was used together with Blender’s own scanline renderer. Several animation techniques were used:

Shape key / vertex animation
Armature rigging
Soft bodies

Cloud Splitter – Personal Jet

Cloud Splitter is a futuristic personal jet that drew inspirations from existing airplanes as well as science fictional machines.
This scene was made entirely using Blender with some texture maps created using the GIMP. The image is rendered using Blender’s own internal rendering engine.
The bulk of the airplane was created using subsurfacing and symmetry modelling.

Conference room interior rendering

This is a re-render of an old interior design rendering project. It was the visualisation for a conference room. For this new rendering, Blender 3D was used. The renderer used was Yafaray.

At the original resolution of 1600 x 1200, the rendering took 2.5 hours to complete. Post-editing was done with the GIMP.
